Air Max Month wouldn’t be complete without a crazy release or two and Nike knows it as they bring the iconic ‘Shima Shima’ print back to the Air Max 1. The base is cut from crisp white nubuck, while swatches of slate-grey roll along the eye stays and laterals. A skirt of mocha nubuck wraps the upper and Swoosh, while flat laces track to a stitched hangtag that swaps out Nike for bold Japanese lettering. The pinstripe pattern synonymous with the ‘Shima Shima’ rolls down the sock liner to custom-printed insoles while Nike Air embroidery adorns the heel. A beautiful Air window is carved out of a crisp foam midsole while underfoot we find a pebbled dual-tone rubber outsole.
