Styled under Margiela’s creative concept “Memory of”, this black leather take on the iconic Reebok Classic Leather uses decortique to expose the work and craftsmanship that is usually hidden in shoes. On the laterals, the classic Reebok check has been stripped back to unearth a hidden felt layer. This same deconstructed design cue has been applied to the heel, where a frayed heel tab unveils the notches and heel cap that hold the shoe together. Completing the design, we have an EVA foam sole and a crisp black rubber sole. It may seem a low-key design but it is, in fact, a poignant testament to the understated craftsmanship that goes into creating the shoes we love.
