London based designer Helen Kirkum collaborates with ASICS for their Crafts For Mind series. All profits from the sale will be donated to Right to Play, a global non-profit that works to empower children through sport in some of the most dangerous places in the world.

Constructed from deadstock ASICS 1090s and post-consumer waste, this neon-yellow and pink offering is a meditation on the human mind and a careful reflection of how we present ourselves to the world. Kirkum has wrapped the outer lateral panels in a secondary protective layer, while deconstructing and exposing the inner medial. It’s a statement on how we carry ourselves in life, from the outside we are encased in protective armor when on the inside we are deeply vulnerable. The importance of running and the mental security set routes can give us, is highlighted on the toe box by one of eight hand stitched running routes from around London. Additional detailing can be found in the blanket stitching on the fore, as well as a reconstructed heel loop that acts as an eyelet. The shoe will also come with special wrapping in the box, printed with the coordinates of eight locations in Copenhagen that are uplifting to the staff here at NAKED Copenhagen.
