World renowned artist and sneaker enthusiast KAWS, has come together with Sacai’s Chitose Abe to bring another look to a genre-bending shoe. This shoe is all about layering, it features a leather upper coated in a sultry purple, with the initial brushed, purple suede swoosh overlaid with an electric blue. As we work up the doubled tongue you find a complementary set of two laces, one in purple and another in a soft yellow. Each tongue tag features a unique logo, one bearing the iconic KAWS ‘XX’, while the inner yellow tongue features a retro Nike-Sacai graphic. The midsole rises with its layered design at the heel, occasionally rising to encroach on the upper before falling below the toe-box. Finally the forward portion of the shoe is marked by KAWS’ signature ‘XX’ design.
