Nike Air Max 1
Another entry in Nike’s stable of iconic silhouettes, the Air Max 1 might hold one of the most prominent positions in sneaker history ever thanks to its profound impact on sneaker culture and design the world over. Introduced in 1987, it was the first shoe produced by Nike to feature an exposed Air unit, which was incredibly controversial at the time and almost got its creator Tinker Hatfield fired. Thankfully, he persevered, and the sneaker world was much better off for it.
